Laura Dawe is an interdisciplinary Canadian artist based in Toronto and Newfoundland.
Her painting, installation and video work explores the intersections of fine art, home decor, comfort and suffering. She is driven by colour. She believes domestic life is basically as political as anything else.
Dawe holds an MFA from OCADU (2018) and a BA in History from Dalhousie (2010). She is a graduate of the Canadian Film Centre Director’s Lab (2012). She teaches at Sheridan College, The Haliburton School of Art & Design, and private workshops.
